Connecting the articles to the forums

It would be helpful if the articles were connected to the forum, so that every article got it's own thread. This way it would be much easier to track when someone comments the articles, if you don't want to rely on RSS feeds.
Now as it stands I think replies to old articles simply might stay unread by the majority of the community.

Good idea, I was actually talking to someone about that the other day; I considered just disallowing comments on the articles and creating a forum post for each new one published, with a "discuss this" link, but that's a bit crufty... I think a better way is to just have articles show up in the forums along with regular posts; That should be easy enough to set up, with a little tweaking. I'll put it on the agenda :)

Cool that's good.
Hope you get it done soon, since I realised it's even worse than I first imagined, as the rss feeds don't include the replies, so currently there's not really any way to know about replies, other than by manually browsing through all pages of articles.
Guess I'm a bit selfish though since I only thought about this problem after writing a rather lengthy reply to "The developer" article :P

I noticed :) The RSS feed is also one of my little "to do" things, there are some inconsistencies with how it generates feeds on different pages. I think it can be set to show replies to a given article, or all comments across the site; need to work on it some more. I must admit though, I've gotten a little distracted this past week, some things about the design have been bugging me and I'm working on an updated layout and some other improvements. Fortunately with the project being small as yet it's still relatively easy to change things up, so definitely let me know if you think there are any other usability issues that can be improved.

Done! Getting the articles to appear in the forums was actually absurdly simple... the problem was that they were then being styled like forum posts, even when accessed from the main page :( But, got it sorted (I hope) after a bit of tinkering. One other option now is to change the style for article comments to look like forum posts... which do you guys prefer?
