Close to Home

Submitted by John on Tue, 03/22/2011 - 10:43

As some of you might know, I live in Tokyo, Japan. Needless to say, it's been a very tense week and a half here, and while things are showing signs of getting back to normal, video games have not exactly been at the forefront of my mind recently. I hope you'll bear with me for a bit until the situation is a little more stable.

I do have to say, though, that if we end up including Sim City-style "meltdown" and "earthquake" disasters in Metropolis, I don't think I'll ever be able to press that button, simulation or no.

Oh, well I hope things get better soon but I thought that Japan was seriously considering evacuating the entire country.

Whoa, afraid you've been wildly misinformed there mate! It's a pretty serious situation, and people are worried about radiation getting into the water supply, or farm products; but even the very worst scenarios wouldn't mean evacuating the entire *country* :) For now, they seem to be getting things under control... fingers crossed.

Immigrate or stock up on Perraire and San Peligrino. Japan is my favorite country and it just goes to prove that any of us could be hit. I live on the West Coast of USA and we are overdue for the "Next Big One" so yeah...

Good luck! I wish you the best and I fear for all of your safety because the fukushima disaster is now a 7, tied with Chernobyl.

5. I wish I had something useful

Submitted by Guest on Sat, 04/23/2011 - 01:44.

I wish I had something useful to say. Been trying to come up with something for the last month alone. Suffice to say, when you are ready, I will bring it out and we can get to work. For now, grieve and keep safe. The rest of the world will be like this soon enough...
